James Hendry

James M. Hendry, 82, of Riegelsville, PA passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023 in his home.

He was born Dec. 30, 1940 in Elizabeth, NJ and was a son of the late James and Janet Watson Hendry.

Jim was a 1959 graduate of South Hunterdon High School in Flemington, NJ where he was a member of the baseball team. He was a peacetime army veteran. For about 28 years, he worked as a machinist for Penn Engineering in Danboro, PA, retiring in 2005. Jim had a passion for antiques cars from an early age. He loved going to car shows as well as tinkering and working on his own antique cars.

He will be missed by his wife, Margaret, of 59 years. His children, Margaret Hendry Gerczak (William) and Jim Hendry (Shelly Mazzie); grandchildren, Elizabeth Greer, Zachary Gerczak and Bryce and Hannah Hendry; great grandchildren, Evelyn Greer, and Bryson and Aria Hendry; and his sister, Janet Hendry Voegtlen. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barabara Hendry, who died in 1988.

Graveside services in the Riegelsville Union Cemetery will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made to Doylestown Hospice, 595 West State St., Doylestown, PA 18901.
